Dire Straits—“Romeo & Juliet”
Yet another great song that did not make the soundtrack. They could’ve done a double album soundtrack.

♥ Robert Gordon & Link Wray - (Bruce Springsteen’s) “Fire”

Fred Lincoln “Link” Wray Jr (May 2, 1929–November 5, 2005) was an American rock and roll guitarist, songwriter and singer.
Wray was noted for pioneering a new sound for electric guitars, as exemplified in his hit 1958 instrumental “Rumble”, by Link Wray and his Ray Men, which pioneered an overdriven, distorted electric guitar sound, and also for having, invented the power chord, the major modus operandi of modern rock guitarist, and in doing so fathering, or making possible, punk and heavy rock. - Wikipedia
“He is the King; if it hadn’t been for Rumble,
I would have never picked up a guitar.”
— Pete Townsend
Link Wray / Bo Diddley
Link Wray isn’t a household name so I expect it to get like 8 plays but he’s a fifties guitar player way before his time. Very psychedelic.. Syd Barret loved Link Wray, who loved Bo Diddley. Mostly, influences flow downstream.
Not that I really care too much about what Rolling Stone thinks, but Link Wray was named as one of the hundred greatest guitarists of all time by their magazine. He has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but he’s in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
